Safe Haven Volunteer Training Peace for Pets is an Ohio nonprofit organization that has developed a new program - Safe Haven for Pets - to assist victims of domestic violence by fostering their pets while the owner is living in a domestic violence shelter in Stark County.
The program is currently recruiting volunteers that are interested in providing short - term foster care for these pets. We need your help to find short term foster homes for these pets. The anonymity of the foster home is always protected. Once the animal's owner is back on her feet and out of the shelter, she is reunited with her animals. If you can help or know someone who can, please contact the program at peaceforpets@hotmail.com or by calling 330-848-9537. This training is offered free of charge but pre-registration is required. Diane Weinmann will lead us through a journey of Dr. Bach's emotional Flower essences for both people and animals. She will explain the emotional symptoms of people and animals and how the essence work to help alleviate the issue and symptoms of animals/ people and how it would helps them become better adjusted. Participants can use this information for themselves, family and friends or their pets. We will learn to create treatment bottles themselves and have an understanding of what types of essences can fix specific problems in order to help a friend or family member. Being knowledgeable regarding the issues that people have and how you can fix them is very beneficial. $50
Feral Cat Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Seminar Learn how to help your neighborhood control the feral cat population.This humane and effective method for controlling the feral cat population will be demonstrated and live traps can be borrowed through the "Peace for Pets" non-profit organization.With TNR, stray and feral (wild) cats are humanely trapped, evaluated, vaccinated for rabies and sterilized by a veterinarian and then returned to their familiar habitat. Laura shares information on the legend and history of tea, how it is cultivated, harvested and processed, the different types and qualities of tea, how to properly brew tea and the health benefits of drinking tea. Amusing anecdotes, tea poetry, explanation of the making of Yixing teapots, and what design elements are preferred in a functional teapot are included.
